Too many Black girls and young women are navigating emotional pain, isolation, and pressure without the support they need to feel safe, grounded, and hopeful.
What they carry is often hidden in plain sight. Too often, their struggles are minimized, misunderstood, or left unspoken.
Black Girl LIVE! brings people together to respond with presence, truth, and community. It creates space for Black girls to be affirmed, supported, and reminded that they don’t have to face life’s hardest moments alone.
Youth well-being does not exist in a vacuum.
When a girl is struggling with hopelessness, bullying, or feeling unsafe, the impact reaches far beyond one moment. It affects how she sees herself, how she moves through the world, and whether she believes help, healing, or a better future is possible.
That’s why this gathering matters.
Black Girl LIVE! is built to meet that need with compassion and intention. It’s a space where girls can hear honest stories, access meaningful resources, build connection across generations, and experience the kind of encouragement that can shift how they see themselves and their future.
Black Girl LIVE! is part of FaithBridge Portland’s broader commitment to healing, equity, and transformation through its Community Heals Us initiative.
This work is grounded in a simple belief: healing becomes more possible when people are met with care, dignity, and community.
No single event can solve every challenge that Black girls face.
But gatherings like this can open doors. They can spark connection. They can interrupt isolation. They can remind a girl that she matters, that support exists. And that her life is worth fighting for.
